A clogged drain in your home can do more harm than good. Fortunately, you can apply many natural remedies to clean your drains. The following are some of them.
1. Dish Soap and Hot Water
You can use dish soap and hot water to clean your drains. Boil 1 liter of water and add a few tablespoons of liquid dish soap. Pour the mixture down your drains. Doing this a couple of times will remove grease and other clogs.
2. Baking Soda and Vinegar
A mixture of baking soda and vinegar can also help clean drains. Begin by pouring a pot of boiling water down the drain. Next, pour half a cup of baking soda down your drain, followed by half a cup of vinegar. Cover the drain with a plug and wait for about 10 minutes. Pour another jar of boiling water down the drain to clean it.
3. Baking Soda and Lemon Juice
Start by pouring half a cup of baking soda down your drains, followed by an equal amount of lemon juice. Use a plug drain to cover the drains and wait for about one hour. Finish by pouring boiling water down the drain.
4. Salt, Borax, and Vinegar
Pour a quarter cup of salt down your drains, followed by an equal amount of Borax. Next, pour a half cup of vinegar down the drain, followed by a pot of boiling water. Let the mixture sit for one hour or until it clears. Run hot water down the sink to rinse the solution.
5. Rubber Plunger
You can also use a rubber plunger to clean your drains, especially clogged kitchen sinks. First, clear your sinks of any dishes. Next, fill the sink halfway with warm water and begin plunging to clean it.
